It's that time of year again when holiday celebrating means
lots of extra calories. What better way to begin the New Year than losing that holiday bulge_
Start by participating in the Islet Replacement Research Foundation's 10-week Slim-a-thon 2004
through Monday, March 8. It is open to anyone that would like to lose weight while playing an
important and active role in raising funds to help find a cure for juvenile diabetes.
Shed those pounds for a good cause and make out a "fat" check to the IRRF. Aspire to a healthier way of
life. Weight loss and increased energy are the goals. Everyone taking part in Slim-A-Thon 2004 can lose
weight in their own way by choosing from one of the hundreds of food plans available. Lose weight for a

You can sign up on line at the IRRF website at www.isletfoundation.org by clicking on the Slim-A-Thon
2004 button. While on the website, take a few minutes to check out the information on the health
benefits of losing weight and the prevention of diabetes. There is also a message board to submit
questions and share tips about weight loss, food, exercise and lifestyle changes as well as success
stories.
So take up the challenge and help make a difference in yourself and finding a cure for juvenile
