The Islet Replacement Research Foundation is a voluntary nonprofit grantmaker and supporter of diabetes research. Its goal is to bring together determined volunteers and dedicated scientists who support an ambitious research project with the hope of finding a cure for diabetes and stamping out insulin dependence without the use of immunosuppressive drugs. Dedicated volunteers support the Foundation enabling 100% of every dollar raised to go directly to scientific research. The Foundation raises additional funds through gifts from individuals, special giving programs, events, corporate sponsorships, and grants. The Foundation promotes medical research by direct grants for research to scientists to achieve its mission of finding a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. The IRRF focuses its funding on investigator-initiated proposals that are on the cutting edge of research. |
